For years I let the belief that I was shy and introverted hold me back. While I was outside, I seemed to be open-minded in some situations. I constantly questioned everything that I did and analyzed it psychoanalytically. Did I let you down? Should I be more sociable or less sociable? Are you distancing yourself from me? Did I do something? “
It was only when I was faced with some big lies that believed in myself and began to understand and believe how much I was loved by God that I was able to overcome much of my lifelong uncertainty and walk with confidence.
Knowing how much I was loved by God meant I didn’t need to find my worth and validation in others. This allowed me to love much more freely, deeply, and wholeheartedly because it was no longer about what other people thought of me.
In this episode, Jesse and I talk about what this transformation meant, my commitment to open up our homes every week for a year, how this has changed our lives, and how I surprised myself because I’ve become so much more extroverted last few years.
We’re also talking about two books we’re reading, a new system of organizing baby D’s medical care, and a YouTube show that Kierstyn loves.
In this episode:
[00:33] We talk about how I got more extroverted.
[02:14] The system of organization that Jesse put together for the medical care of Baby D is saving our lives.
[05:32] Rachel and the nurserymen save my life because Kierstyn loves it.
[07:16] I actually listen to a book and read a book because I had time to read.
[09:41] Jesse is still reading The hand of the devil by Jack Carr.
[12:08] Would Jesse agree that I became more extroverted?
[13:43] I am still “populated” and have to recharge myself by being alone.
[16:14] Has uncertainty driven her shyness and introversion?
[19:01] God had to change my heart how I saw myself.
[21:10] You can’t say you are or not something if you’ve never tried it before.
[23:31] I’m not the shy and insecure person I used to be for letting go of those limiting beliefs.
[25:11] What limiting beliefs do you let rule your life?
