Welcome to Part I, which teaches you how to get free PR for your business!

We’re going to talk about why it’s important for you to learn how to get free PR for your business and dive into the thinking blocks that keep women entrepreneurs from getting visible.

You’ll also learn why you don’t have to hire a PR firm.

Why should my company create a PR campaign?

One big problem a lot of you have is that nobody knows who the hell you are. And if no one knows who the hell you are, you can’t close or complete, but it gets a lot more complicated.

Think of your PR campaign as a way to build a relationship. If you start getting media attention, your expert status will skyrocket – it just goes through the damn roof. When people find out I had a column on Inc, they want to pay me. If they find out I’ve been to Forbes and that I’m an entrepreneur, they’ll want to pay me.

Establish a PR strategy to get free media

This is the perfect time to start creating a PR schedule. You need to use the following strategies that you can start implementing right away.

First, you need to present your idea to media companies. I’m going to pay the business cost to get in a few circles of people who started their online business through sales and networking from there through LinkedIn. I will also use testimonials.

Second, find a podcast that’s in the same industry as your company and get an interview. In times of crisis, producers are looking for experts. Podcast interviews not only get you on their show, but also get you listed on their website. You don’t have to be on a popular podcast – you can find a podcast in your industry.

Questions to ask yourself when setting up a public relations strategy

There are some reflective questions to ask yourself when creating a public relations plan. To avoid shooting in the dark with no direction, ask yourself the following questions:

    • Which media would you like to introduce?
    • Where would you like to see your name
    • Where would you like to see a quote from you?
    • Which channels would you like to get media attention from?

Why you don’t need a PR company

I’ve worked with PR companies and we have clients who run PR companies. You’re not bullshit. They are amazing. However, one of the objections to deal with is that PR firms have burned many prospects in the past. So the problem with PR and hiring PR companies is that it was like a low barrier to entry and it was a sexy industry to be a part of a few years ago.

Everyone thought they were Samantha from sex in town. “Oh look at me! I run a PR company. ‘Many PR agencies appeared out of nowhere with little or no experience promoting the business and charging premium prices.

Editors and media giants are all over Twitter. You can quickly find them, follow them, and send them a message. People who own and manage media are easily accessible through Twitter and LinkedIn.

    Establishment of a sales system

If you have a proper sales system in place, you can achieve significant success.

If you do this, you will have the right systems and will guide people through a customer process. You don’t have to pay for this exposure.

Emotional blocks that can stop PR

You need to be clear about who your audience is, what problem you are solving, where your audience is and what story your market is up to now. I’ve made sales by making sure I understand what the story is, how to put it up, and how to talk about the market. Here is the story. Here is the pitch. Let’s go.
