Do you want to make money shopping?
Yes, you’ve read that correctly, do Buy money. It is possible!
Curve, the wallet app, works with a number of select retailers to provide cashback so you can get paid while you place an Amazon Fresh order or have a Chinese snack.
Cashback programs have helped people make hundreds of pounds a year in the past – Curve goes a step further by offering new customers 1% cashback on every eligible purchase for 30 days. Sign on to theirs Page? ˅ Redeem cashback!
Additionally, when you sign up by clicking any of the Curve links in this article, you will receive a £ 5 sign up bonus to kickstart your Curve journey!
Receive cashback while shopping
Many cashback programs only work through apps or websites, but Curve offers an all-in-one physical smart card that combines your credit and debit cards. This is super practical as you can go on a shopping spree with just one card. Follow these steps to get cashback:
- Download the Curve app and order a card – there are several to choose from (more on that later).
- Scan your credit and debit cards with the Curve app to add them to your account.
- Activate your Curve card and select the credit or debit card you want to pay with.
- Shop away! You can link your Curve card to Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.
As a new customer, you will receive 1% cashback for 30 days when you shop at selected retailers. The cashback comes in the form of Curve Cash Points (one point is worth one cent). The points are saved on your digital Curve cash card and can be spent immediately. Note that you cannot withdraw the points for cash.
If you really want to get the most out of Curve, get an additional 30 days of 1% cashback by referring a new customer! The 30-day period begins as soon as your referral makes the first purchase with your Curve card.
Rules for Maximizing Money
As with all cashback programs, there are a few rules you need to follow to ensure that you are saving when you spend, not spending to save:
- Don’t buy things just to get cashback! Use Curve for purchases you would have done anyway.
- Instead of going straight to a Curve dealer, find the best deal on an item first.
- Clear your cookies before placing any online orders to ensure you get the cashback you need.
- Curve Cash Points expire after six months, so be sure to spend them within that time frame.
In terms of shopping, Curve’s retail partners range from high street to high end, and include big names in supermarkets, fashion, and entertainment. Here are just a handful of companies that give cashback through Curve:
Side note: Don’t worry if you accidentally pay with the wrong card – you can change payment cards up to 90 days after purchase using the app’s ingenious “Go Back in Time” function.
Types of Cashback Programs
You can choose from one of three curve mapsall of which have the same core benefits:
- Combine your current credit and debit cards into one practical smart card.
- The “Go Back in Time” feature, which allows you to switch between cards when you have made previous purchases.
- Curve customer protection for unauthorized transactions on payments up to £ 100,000.
One of the main differences between the cards is the type of cashback they offer.
‘Curve Blue’ or ‘The Classic’ is free. You benefit from 1% cashback for 30 days and when the time is up, the retailers will regularly send you personalized one-time cashback offers of up to 20%. You will also get access to fair foreign exchange rates of up to £ 500 per month and no fee withdrawals from overseas ATMs of up to £ 200 per month.
Next comes “Curve Black” or “The Premium”. For £ 9.99 per month, enjoy unlimited 1% cashback on purchases in three eligible shops of your choice. You also get access to unlimited fair exchange rates and no fee withdrawals from overseas ATMs of up to £ 400 per month.
‘Curve Metal’ or ‘The Ultimate’ is the most expensive card at £ 14.99 a month, but the cashback is well worth it if you are busy spending money with Curve’s retail partners. You will receive your selection from six qualified shops for unlimited 1% cashback. In addition to unlimited fair exchange rates, you also get access to no fee overseas ATM withdrawals of up to £ 600 per month (very handy if you are an avid traveler!)
Track expenses and protect money
While cashback is the main benefit of Curve, there are a number of other benefits associated with the smart card. The curve timeline helps you keep track of the date, amount and location of your expenses. You can also opt for notifications that appear every time you spend money and get a detailed analysis of your spending history with the Insights feature.
If you lose your Curve card, don’t worry! You can protect your money by simply clicking the “Block card” button in the app. There’s also an ‘anti-embarrassment’ feature, which means that Curve will automatically try a replacement card of your choice if your chosen card doesn’t go through (it saves you an awkward conversation with the cashier!)
