How to sleep comfortably at night and stop waking up tired

    Follow good sleep hygiene

    You have probably heard of personal hygiene – but have you heard of sleep hygiene? Sleep hygiene is a number of practices you can follow to get a more restful sleep, including:

    • Stay away from screens (phone, computer, and tablet) for at least 2 hours before bed
    • Have a regular bedtime that you follow, including sleeping and waking up every day if possible
    • Reduce naps during the day to a maximum of 20-30 minutes

    Make sure your bed is comfortable

    It’s simple math – if your bed isn’t comfortable, you probably won’t sleep well. Also, if you feel uncomfortable at night, you are more likely to wake up in the middle of the night instead of sleeping straight through the night.

    This can mean changing your mattress, not only so that you can upgrade to a more comfortable mattress, but also so that it suits your sleeping needs.     Wake up
