When it feels like your prayers are not being answered

Do you feel that your prayers are being ignored? This is something we care about and a story God is writing for us right now … of a decade where we have a dream and a hope and see no answers to prayer. But in retrospect, God answered these prayers – just not in the way we could ever have imagined or dreamed of! And its story is so much better!

In those 10 years God has taught us so many lessons about faith, rest in Him, and contentment and has simply opened our hearts to step into things that were scary and harsh and took us far out of our comfort zone.

We’ll talk more about it in this week’s episode of The Crystal Paine Show + we’ll give you a little glimpse into what’s been happening in our lives lately. It was Jesse’s birthday. We talk about our age difference and how we celebrated Jesse’s birthday. We’ll discuss some of the books we’ve read recently and what to look for in good books. Jesse talks about the books he’s finished, a non-fiction and a fiction. I’m talking about a novelist who was recommended to me and the last book I just finished.

A word to the wise, don’t do things with one hand when trying to fix a toilet. I’ll share why on the podcast – and I’m sure you can imagine a little where this story has led.

We talk about everyday objects that have a positive effect on our family. The Flex Seal Glue that Jesse uses to try to fix the toilet mishap. How the invention of the two-way zip onesie helped keep Baby D’s G-Tube secure.

At the end of the podcast, we reflect on our last decade and how God was at work behind the scenes when it seemed like our hopes and dreams were going nowhere. I close the podcast and give words to encourage others who may be struggling, who may not fully realize that God is answering you, it just might not be what you ever imagined … and it might end up like that be much better than you I could have imagined!

    In this episode

[00:37] – Welcome to the Crystal Paine Show. Today’s topic is about when your prayers are not answered.

[01:13] – Jesse just talked a little, um, can anyone tell a difference in their voice? Does it sound a little more mature? A little older?

[02:44] – I just discovered last month that teenagers love cakes.

[04:10] – Jesse is older, that’s big news, and besides, he’s finished more than one book.

[06:01] – He’s telling us about The President’s daughter Book.

[07:08] – I finished a book by Charles Martin. I’ve heard a lot of his books lately. Earlier this year, on my blog Money Saving Mom.com, I asked for book recommendations specifically for fiction.

[08:37] – This one I just finished was it An intercepted life.

[11:00] – Jesse, do you have something that will save your life? Our whole family’s life, actually.

[13:09] – When I was growing up, I used to fix toilets a lot. But apparently I recently lost that ability!

[16:36] – Well, what saves my life this week has actually saved my life for a very long time.

[19:21] – I read an email to Jesse that I know he’ll find funny. 🙂

[21:15] – Let’s talk about it if your prayers are not answered.

[23:14] – We wanted to have more children and God did not answer this prayer with yes.

[24:28] – We can both look back on those ten years of waiting and really see how God has changed our hearts in great ways.

[25:55] – I posted this on Instagram and just want to finish off reading this and I just hope it encourages someone today who needs this reminder.
